What kind of town is Korakuen?

Known since the Showa period as a town with amusement parks and baseball stadiums, Korakuen is still popular as a leisure town with the Tokyo Dome, Korakuen Hall, and Tokyo Dome City Attractions. Although it is often thought to be unsafe because of the large number of visitors from all over Japan, Bunkyo-ku is also known as a safe area with the lowest crime rate among the 23 wards of Tokyo.

Korakuen is also famous for the Koishikawa Korakuen Garden. In the garden, where Chinese landmarks and landscapes are represented, visitors can enjoy seasonal flowers throughout the year, including cherry blossoms, autumn leaves, and camellias.

The Bunkyo Civic Center, which houses the Bunkyo Ward Office, also has a staff cafeteria on the 13th floor that is open to the public. The observation lounge on the 25th floor is open to the public free of charge and offers a panoramic view of Tokyo from a height of approximately 105 meters above the ground. Why not use it to refresh yourself at lunch time or during work?
    * The observation lounge is closed for renovation (as of November 2022)
